The honest truth is that getting a search engine (organic traffic) is not a big deal, but there are some crucial things you need to do in other to achieve that goal, in short, it all depends on the quality of your content and how well your website is optimized for search engines. But this doesn’t mean you should neglect other forms of getting traffic.

In this new article, I’m going to talk about some little SEO mistake’s we make that is preventing organic traffics from coming to our websites/ blog.

Over the years and SEO audits and suggestions have gotten, few common mistakes reduce the visibility of my blog post in search engines.

I’m happy you found this article today because I’m going to share those little mistakes with you so you can avoid them and boost your SEO score in that process.

Reasons why your site doesn’t get enough traffic.

1.No external linking

Every blogger wants their visitors to stay longer on their website, many new bloggers make a huge mistake by not giving external links, they even extend this to, when mentioning a site, for example, instead of shoutmeloud.com, they neglect the hyperlink and just use shoutmeloud.com. External linking helps your website/blog in many ways such as;

Ø  It can increase your SEO scores if only your link to a trustworthy/ website with high credibility.

Ø          Ã˜  It can increase your website ranking power.

In case you’re afraid that it will increase your bounce rate, you can simply add a redirect so it opens the anchor text in another tab.

2. Your site is not optimized for mobile devices.

This is another crucial point since the majority of people prefer using their mobile phones to compare to laptops and computers since the phone is very small and light to carry alongside to anywhere you go.

According to statista.com, in the first quartile of 2021, mobile devices with the exclusion of tablets generated 54.8% of the global world traffic, and from 2017 to date, more than 50% of global web traffic comes from mobile phones.

Just imagine losing all this huge amount of traffic just because your website/blog is not mobile-friendly, this could be as a result of the theme you’re using so be mindful of the themes you use on your websites.

 3. You don’t give your audience what they want.

This is another important point, this point is important in the sense that, your audience surf the internet for a solution to a particular problem they are going through, and when they realize you’re not able to help, then there is no need for them to visit your site.

So you must frequently ask your audience what are some problems they are facing or they should be giving suggestions about your blog and try to create content on their suggestion and I promise you this will even make them promote your content on your behalf.

I have a WhatsApp group where I do ask them questions frequently and I’m glad to say a few replies and I create content based on their thought, so make sure to create content for your audience and not for search engines. Don’t forget to also drop your own suggestion on this article.

4. You don’t promote your content.

As a content creator, you shouldn’t just create content and leave them because no one will know they exist. No matter how you optimize the SEO of your content if you don’t promote it, no one is going to see them because you didn’t introduce it to them.

You don’t expect someone to know where a particular product is until you tell the person, I know at first it will be difficult but with time you will realize that it is worth it.

5.  You don’t have an explicit niche.

The niche you’re in and how you manage it also has a great effect on your traffic because if you’re not able to explain or get a clearer idea of your niche, you will find it difficult in making content,

which could let the audience lose interest in your blog because you the owner are unable to understand your blog, how then do you expect your readers to understand what you’re trying to educate or inform them on?

“No one will ever be in a classroom where he gets no knowledge from” so make sure to choose a niche you can explain to your audience to the fullest, once they are able, they will always come to you whenever they have a problem that could be solved in your field.

The secret here is; you need to get in contact with other bloggers that are in the same niche as you so that both of you can create, share ideas and introduce each other to both audiences.

If you’re lucky and able to meet someone really interested in your idea, then you are 50% ahead, when you guys build a good connection, you can write the opposite of each other.

Let me say one of you can write an article that says “10 SEO TIPS FOR BEGINNERS”, and the other can write the opposite which says “10 COMMON SEO MISTAKES TO AVOID”.

You see in this case both of you can recommend each article since one is the opposite of the other.

7. You don’t utilize the power of social media.

In this recent years, we’ve come to realize that majority of the global population is on social media and most social media handles like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn now allow users to create content and include backlinks.

Promoting your content on social media could help you gain a lot of loyal audiences which will convert to traffics in a matter of time.

There are a lot of social media pages and groups that allow people to post their content as long is related to the purpose of the group,

I also have a Facebook group that I created purposely for new bloggers to share their content and get traffic to their websites. You can join groups related to your niche and share your content there.

Final thought

You should also consider updating your old blog post and try your best not to delete an old post from your website, in case you’re not satisfied with the content don’t delete just update it and leave it there because search engines have recognized that link and being doing underground promotions.

So when you update it with more quality content, it will be easy for it to outrank others' content due to the quality content, then you won’t get to face more troubles.
