Without wasting much of your time let’s jump into today's topic which is, how to add a custom domain to google blogger.


adding a custom domain to google blogger may be easy or hard depending on the domain host.


so I will advise you to read and follow the steps below carefully so that you don't make any mistakes when adding your new domain to google blogger.

How to add a custom domain to google blogger


Step1: Head over to your blogger dashboard and click on settings 


when you click on the setting a new-page will then appear, once the page appears, look for where they said publishing, under publishing look for a custom domain and click on it.

From the image above you can see that I have linked a custom domain to my site.


When you click on the custom domain you are going to see a popup that looks like the one below.

Once the popup appears then, they will ask you to enter a custom domain, when entering the custom domain make sure to use the following format

{www.yourdomain.com}. after you've entered your domain they will show a message that looks like the one below.

make sure to read the message carefully, because they are going to show you two separate codes to add to your DNS {Domain name system},


the codes are different from one person to another. Once they show you the message above containing the codes,


go to the website where you bought your domain, your dashboard may be different from mine base on where you bought your domain but the steps are the same.

Once you are here click on "Domains" once you click on it you land on a new page showing you the list of your domains, like the one below.

Once the page opens just click on the domain you are connecting to blogger, once you click on it you should land on a page that looks like the one below.

If your domain host doesn't have all these steps just screw down to the next step.


But if your domain host has it doesn’t skip it. once you land on this page click on "Addons" where the arrows are pointing. then they will redirect you to a new page showing you your DNS

The moment you see, "DNS HOST RECORD MANAGEMENT" Click on manage, some websites may direct you straight to the last step below where you have to fill the form When filling the form make sure to follow the steps carefully.

Connecting custom domain to blogger

 

Note: copy the first four lines, because those numbers are always the same but the final two lines don't copy anything.


Your hosting site may be a bit differ but apply this same method and click save.


After you have clicked on save changes wait for 1hour and go back to blogger and repeat from step1 to step 3. then your website will be automatically redirected from the old domain to the new one.
